Lisa D. Angelo

Lisa D. Angelo is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of Murchison & Cumming, LLP. Ms. Angelo is an aggressive trial attorney and a member of the firm's Professional Liability, General Liability, Cyber Law, Law and Motion, and Retail (including wine, beer, and spirits) practice groups.

Ms. Angelo is a Martindale Hubbell AV-Preeminent rated attorney and has experience in a wide variety of practice areas including legal malpractice, professional negligence, white collar crime, premises liability, general liability, health law, breach of fiduciary duty, product liability and international law. Ms. Angelo has also been named a "Southern California Rising Star" by Super Lawyers Magazine and a "Southern California Top Lawyer" as published in the Los Angeles Times for the past four consecutive years. Ms. Angelo was also recognized in Super Lawyers' 2016 Southern California Women’s Edition. This is an exclusive list, recognizing no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in Southern California.

Ms. Angelo's most recent trial victories include a defense verdict for a small business owner from Avalon, Ca. against a $5 million dollar slip and fall claim in Long Beach Superior Court. The jury took less than two hours to reach a favorable verdict on first question of whether restaurant was negligent. Three months prior, Ms. Angelo obtained a dismissal in a complex 10-count complaint arising out of the sale of a high-end vehicle, with allegations ranging from malicious prosecution and defamation to fraud and conversion of the vehicle. Another favorable defense verdict was reached for a not-for-profit medical clinic in a premises liability case where a 77 year old plaintiff tripped over a concrete wheel stop located in the disabled parking stall section of a parking lot and sought more than $2 million dollars in damages. After an 8 day jury trial the jury took less than 45 minutes to render a defense verdict on first question of whether the Clinic was negligent. Ms. Angelo has also achieved success for her clients by prevailing on dispositive motions including a recent motion for summary judgment in a premises liability / "dog-bite" case against local Pet Shop and animal rescue owner. On March 20, 2018 this case was upheld on appeal.

Ms. Angelo is an active member of the Professional Liability Defense Federation, Los Angeles County Bar Association's Inn of Court, Women Lawyers of Long Beach and she has served as a speaker for several local and national organizations including USLAW. She is admitted to practice law in all California State and Federal Courts including the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit as well as the Courts of the District of Columbia and the United States Supreme Court.
