Appellate Law

The Appellate Practice Group is comprised of lawyers with a demonstrable talent for effectively and persuasively presenting legal arguments by way of written briefs and oral argument.

The attorneys in the Appellate Practice Group serve the traditional needs of clients for appeals by either defending favorable trial court results or attempting to overturn unfavorable results, often being retained to challenge or defend results obtained by attorneys from other firms, after trial. Our appellate attorneys have a demonstrable talent for effectively and persuasively presenting written and oral legal arguments to achieve favorable appellate results, and are fully experienced and knowledgeable about the nuances of appeals and preservation of appellate rights, ranging from application of appellate rules to legal research acumen and oral and written advocacy skills.

Pre-trial, trial and appellate consultation services are also available to clients needing to ensure that issues are properly framed and preserved at trial and/or making decisions as to the merits of pursuing an appeal. In addition, Amicus Curiae briefings are prepared on issues of particular importance to our clients.

Members of this group practice appellate advocacy in the United States Supreme Court, the California Supreme Court, the California State Court of Appeal and the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit.
