R. Scott Rasmussen

R. Scott Rasmussen is a Partner in the Las Vegas office of Murchison & Cumming, LLP. Scott has experience in business litigation, corporate law, gaming law, and premise and product liability. What sets Scott apart in the Nevada legal community is his unique skill set that encompasses both his expertise in gaming law and being proficient in Japanese.

Giving back to the community is an important part of Scott's life. His family recently worked with a charitable organization to distribute food for undocumented workers and their families, most whom had been laid off from their jobs. 500 people from all walks of life showed up to be fed and thanks to one of the Strip Resorts there were pallets of food to distribute. His clients appreciate that he feels we are all in this life together and it is important to help each other whenever able.

Scott attended the University of Maryland where he received his BA and then continued onto Washington University for his JD and Master's in Japanese. He also has a LLM in Gaming and Regulation from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has a Master's degree in Japanese and taught Japanese at the college level for three years and also taught Business Law for eight years at the College of Southern Nevada.

Away from the office he enjoys spending time with his family, including his four children. Scott sings in choirs and recently performed at The Smith Center in Las Vegas for a production of the "Lamb of God" theatrical production. He enjoys cooking and eating Japanese cuisine, especially authentic Japanese sushi. His family owns a small ranch/farm in Utah where they raise cattle.
