Heidi C. Quan

Heidi C. Quan is a Partner in Murchison & Cumming's Northern California office. With over 20 years of litigation experience, Heidi's clients rely on and appreciate her ability to bring each case to a timely and optimal resolution through early investigation and evaluation. As a trusted advisor, she also counsels her clients on risk management and litigation avoidance.

Heidi has represented individuals and businesses in a variety of matters, including construction defect and injury, general liability, professional liability, employment law, landlord/tenant, and product liability. Her clients have included developers, sub-contractors, doctors, lawyers and real estate professionals to small and large businesses, national and international corporations, restaurants and bars, hotels, residential care and skilled nursing facilities, security companies, as well as residential and commercial property owners and managers. She also assists clients within the cannabis industry.

Heidi is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell and a Northern California "Super Lawyer.” She is also a member of the firm's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She is also a member of the San Francisco Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California, the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before all California State Courts, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California and the Ninth Circuit Federal Court of Appeal.

As a member of the Defense Research Institute, Heidi has had the pleasure of serving as both the Chair of Membership for the Retail & Hospitality Committee and as a Diversity & Inclusion Vice-Chair for the Women in the Law Committee since 2017. She has also served as Co-Chair for Marketing for the 2017 and 2018 DRI Retail & Hospitality Seminar.

Heidi is also a member of Women Gro and the National Cannabis Industry Association. She has had the pleasure of serving as a 2017-2018 member of the NCIA Infused Products Committee and as a member of the NCIA Human Resources Committee since 2018.

As a member of The Junior League of San Francisco (JLSF), Heidi promotes and participates in local volunteer activities to advance the social and emotional health of at-risk youth and elderly populations throughout the Bay Area via direct service, advocacy, and grant-making. The JLSF also advocates on behalf of issues important to our community including child abuse prevention, perinatal depression, sex trafficking and violence against women. She has had the honor of serving several years on the JLSF Board of Directors and has held other leadership positions in the women-run organization.

Heidi's dedication to youth education in Oakland extends through her work as a Board Trustee for St. Paul's Episcopal School and as the President of the Board of Trustees for the Junior Center of Art and Science, which is dedicated to cultivating curiosity and creative exploration of local youth through arts, science, and technology.

Away from the office, she enjoys running, SCUBA diving, photography, traveling, and screaming at/for her favorite sports teams.
