Jean Lawler to Speak at CLM Bad Faith and Coverage Conference

BOSTON--Jean M. Lawler of Murchison & Cumming, LLP is slated to speak at the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) Insurance Bad Faith and Coverage Conference on September 14, 2012 in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Lawler will be joined by co-presenters Lance Albright of QBE North America, Dan D. Kohane of Hurwitz & Fin, PC and Lewis Harper of Carolina Casualty Insurance Group, LLC in presenting on the topic, “Tackling Tenders - Who’s On First? Priorities of Coverage and Tools for Responding to Tenders of Defense and Indemnity.” 

The presentation will include discussions on the appropriate application of risk transfer mechanisms and an examination of the ways in which an insured’s indemnitee may be entitled to defense or indemnity under a CGL policy and resulting competing insurance implications, including priorities of coverage. The presenters will provide attorneys, adjusters and claims and risk managers in attendance with practical tools for effectively and appropriately responding to tenders.

Ms. Lawler is Murchison’s Managing Partner and is the immediate past-Chair of the firm’s Insurance Law practice group. She is a Past President of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, is a member of CLM and is a frequent speaker on insurance bad faith and coverage topics.
