Margaret Eum

Margaret Eum is a Senior Associate in the Los Angeles office of Murchison & Cumming, LLP focusing her practice on construction defect litigation. With 20 years of experience, Ms. Eum has gained the trust of not just of her clients, but other attorneys, judges, and mediators. Ms. Eum's exposure to the family business of real estate development solidified her desire to practice law in the field of construction defect litigation. She brings her unique background to the table when dealing with owners, developers, general contractors and subcontractors.

Ms. Eum is an expert in creating successful resolutions for her clients by being tenacious and thinking outside the box. In a recent case she represented a framer for construction defects and mold involving 261 condominium units in Santa Barbara County. After six weeks of trial Ms. Eum was able to obtain a favorable resolution for her client.

A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in Intellectual European History, Ms. Eum attended law school at Golden Gate University where she received the Comparative Law Award for her paper on the comparison between Japanese and Korean legal systems and how they were influenced by the German and U.S. legal systems. During law school she studied abroad at Tokyo University School of Law and interned at the International Law Firm in Seoul, South Korea.

Ms. Eum has a passion for giving back to the community and is involved with Girl Rising and Room to Read. These are organizations that focus on education by funding the building of libraries, financially supporting the publishing of books by local young writers and sending children, especially girls, to school.

Away from the office, Ms. Eum enjoys spending time with her children, playing tennis and golf, hiking traveling, and volunteering.
