Joseph Fox

Joseph Fox is Of Counsel in the San Diego office of Murchison & Cumming, LLP. Mr. Fox serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Business & Real Estate Transactions practice group and is a member of the General Liability & Casualty practice group. His experience includes handling business formations, purchases and sales of businesses, litigation of business disputes, real property purchase and sale dissolution, disassociation and breach of contract, residential and commercial real property purchase and sale transactions, residential and commercial unlawful detainers, boundary and easement disputes and landlord and tenant matters.

Mr. Fox has litigated over 100 jury and court trials and arbitrations, in business and trade practices, breach of fiduciary duties, personal injury and property damage claims, corporate and partnership dissolutions, Fair Housing Act reasonable accommodation actions and ADA claims against commercial property owners and commercial tenants, HOA litigation, real estate partition, quiet title, foreclosure of mechanic’s liens, forcible detainer, product liability, breach of contract and mobile home law actions. He has served as Judge Pro Tem for Small Claims Court (1994-2006), and as an arbitrator in a real estate matter and numerous attorney fee disputes for the San Diego County Bar Fee Arbitration Committee.

Mr. Fox’s pro bono work includes handling matters for, and providing general counsel to, the Lupus Foundation of Southern California.

As a member of the City of San Diego Small Business Advisory Board, Mr. Fox advises the Mayor and City Council on any matter that will enhance the capability of small businesses in San Diego to succeed, such as the formulation of laws, policies or procedures which may affect the management, operation or financial stability of small businesses. He served as past vice president for the San Diego Chapter of the Western Manufactured Housing Communities Association and a past president, vice president, treasurer and board member for Temple Emanu-El of San Diego.
